German Studies is an academic field that deals with the history of the German language and its significance, as well as the German literature and culture. German Studies constitutes a multidisciplinary field that usually involves studying subjects like German Literary Studies, German History, German Society, Economy and Law, The European Union, Modern European History, Literature, Culture, and Pedagogy, and more. Students in German Studies also have the opportunity to discuss current topics like German Film and Media Culture, Modern German Literature, German Sports, Democratization in Central Europe and different EU policies. Apart from gaining theoretical knowledge, students are also encouraged to carry out research in the field of German Studies and develop valuable professional skills – linguistic skills, teaching skills, teamwork skills, data analysis skills, problem- solving skills, critical thinking, and decision-making skills, for example.
