Turkey is a country of ancient history, rich culture, delicious food and fascinating sights. Pursuing a degree in Turkish Studies gives students the opportunity to explore Turkish culture and familiarize themselves with the language, literature, religion, history and geography of the country. Turkish Studies university programs are multidisciplinary, teaching a variety of subjects like Turkish Language, Islamic Art & Architecture, Linguistics, Literature, Politics, History of Turkey, the Ottoman Empire, Religious Studies, Cultural Studies of Turkey, Phonetics and Morphology, Geography, Islam Theories and more. Students in Turkish Studies can also discuss current topics in the field – for example, Issues in Turkish Politics, Contemporary Literature, Turkish Media, Social and Political Trends, and Globalization. A degree course in Turkish Studies provides students with in-depth theoretical knowledge, but also helps them develop critical-thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work in teams and thoroughly understand Turkish culture. Turkish Studies graduates can expect to be able to pursue a number of careers. They can work in foreign service, business, media, education, cultural institutions, political advising, journalism, research, communication and many more sectors.

For this program, a specific bachelor´s degree is required. Knowledge of German Language.
