Description
The Master’s degree “Master of Arts in African Culture and Society” at the University of Bayreuth includes the scientific competencies of the African-related disciplines, as well as it gives students broad access to cultural and social developments in Africa. This Master’s program is aimed at students, who have a pronounced academic interest in Africa. The main purpose of the course is to offer a close connection to current projects in Africa research and the proximity to specific issues that affect cultural, social and political processes in regions of Africa. The following program focuses on a study project with about eight weeks of teaching research, which is subsidized by the university. Relating to the career prospects, the graduates are excellently trained for responsible activities in an international environment, as well as they are future qualified employees in the field of social and cultural sciences, for example in NGOs, human rights organizations and consulting agencies. The entry requirements include a university degree (or a completed degree) in the bachelor's degree “Applied African Studies, Culture and Society of Africa” or in the bachelor's degree “African Languages, Literatures and Art” at the University of Bayreuth or an equivalent degree, as well as linguistic proficiency: German, French, English (Level: B2).
