The University of Bayreuth offers the Master’s “Master of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology”, which is designed to provide an integrative view of the molecular life sciences. The main purpose of this course is to give the students technical and methodological skills ranging from biochemistry to biophysics, molecular biology, cell biology and biotechnology. Thus, to focus on the structure / function relationships of biomolecules on a molecular and cellular level, as well as on the interactions of different biomolecules with non-biological components. The successful master's graduates will have the opportunity to do a doctorate in the “Molecular Biosciences” doctoral program at the Bayreuth Graduate School for Mathematics and Natural Sciences (BayNAT), as well as they will be qualified to take part in the elite “Macromolecular Science” program parallel to their master’s and doctoral studies. The entry requirements include a degree with at least a grade of “good” (2.5) in the bachelor's degree courses in biochemistry or biology (specializing in molecular and cell biology) at the University of Bayreuth or an equivalent degree, as well as language certificate: German: B2, English: B2.
