Description
The University of Bayreuth provides the Master’s degree “Master of Arts/Master of Science in Computer Game Studies”, which is a close combination of theoretical and practical work, and offers the students media and computer science concepts and methods, in order to understand computer games both in their socio-cultural and technical significance. Thus, the following represent to the students, the equipment customary in the industry and interactive laboratory for working with experimental interfaces. The skills that graduates acquire throughout this program, give them a chance to work in a wide range of professional fields, such as Programming: middleware, graphics, interfaces, gameplay, simulation, game writing, (technical) game design, as well as organizational and curatorial activities in cultural departments and similar institutions. The entry requirements include a university degree (or a completed degree) in the Bachelor's degree in Media Studies and Media Practice, with a combined subject “Applied Computer Science - Multimedia” or in the Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a minor in media studies at the University of Bayreuth or an equivalent degree, as well as language proficiency: English: B2 + and German: DSH-2.
