The University of Bayreuth offers the Bachelor’s degree “Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Information System Technology” that combines competencies in the established core areas of electrical engineering, as well as interdisciplinary training at the interface between hardware and software. During this course the students will gain insights into the scientific and practical development of innovative technical solutions for the acquisition, processing, distribution and use of information, mainly for the design of digital living environments. It also provides numerous long-term developments, which are linked to the fact that technical systems acquire, process, distribute and use information: autonomous vehicles, digital factories, distributed energy systems, telemedicine, home automation, 5G and many others. This course qualifies for professional activities in the field of economy, as well as in the field of public service and research institutions. The entry requirements include general or relevant subject-related higher education entrance qualification or professional qualification, as well as language skills: German C1.
