The University of Bayreuth offers the Bachelor’s degree “Bachelor of Science in Health Economics”, which provides students with well-founded specialist knowledge in economics (business administration and economics), in medical management and health sciences. Throughout this course, the students learn to recognize social and socio-political problems, as well as to analyse concepts in the field of health care and to develop their own proposed solutions for health economic issues. The graduates are also offered professional opportunities, especially with medical service providers (hospitals, rehabilitation or care facilities), insurance companies, auditing and consulting companies, pharmaceutical manufacturers and in the medical device industry. The entry requirements include general or relevant subject-related higher education entrance qualification or professional qualification and language certificate: German B2. Also, there is an obligation to complete a four-month internship, at least six weeks of this must be completed in the patient-related area (nursing internship) before the application, but no later than the enrolment date of this course.
