The University of Bayreuth offers the Bachelor's degree “Bachelor of Arts in History” that provides students with knowledge about epochs and lines of development in the history of Europe from local, regional, national, transnational, transregional and global perspectives. The main purpose of this course is to focus on are political history, the history of knowledge and ideas, social, cultural (including religious) and economic history, questions of legal history, but also the question of how knowledge about the past is constructed and conveyed. The course also conveys the theory and philosophy of history, as well as methods of the historical sciences and at the same time, the students acquire fundamental professional and research-related qualifications in the fields of archives, museums, foreign languages (English, Latin, French), IT and multimedia, conception and writing. The entry requirements include general or relevant subject-related higher education entrance qualification or professional qualification, as well as language skills certificate: German B2; English B2.
