Description
The master's degree "Master of Arts in Language - Interaction - Culture" is based on a training concept that spans the individual philologues and brings together linguistic competencies from the following subjects in a research-related curriculum: African Studies, English Studies, Arabic Studies, Romance Studies, German Studies, Intercultural German Studies and Didactics of German Language and Literature. Therefore, the course can not only be studied multilingual, but it also offers the possibility of an international orientation: Approximately two students per year (if suitable) can take part in the Eurocampus, an offer geared towards intercultural communication (in the winter semester), which comes with a certificate (in addition to the MA certificate). This master’s degree qualifies graduates for professional fields in which language-systematic and language-action-oriented skills as well as textual skills are required, such as press work, media advice, PR, language and cultural work, text optimization, European integration, and work in international development aid organizations and European institutions on issues of multilingualism and language contact. The entry requirements include a university degree (or a completed degree) in a philological bachelor's degree with a linguistic component from the Faculty of Linguistics and Literature at the University of Bayreuth or an equivalent degree, as well as linguistic proficiency German: DSH-2.
