Description
The Master’s degree “Master of Science in Physics” at the University of Bayreuth encourages early involvement in research. The purpose of this program is to focus on the abilities and skills, in particular an advanced scientific understanding of the subject matter at high international standards, as well as to help the students to gain the ability to carry out scientific work independently, and additional key skills, such as project management, teamwork, and presenting complicated matters clearly. Therefore, the students’ own initiatives are also actively supported, with the guidance and supervision of experienced teaching staff, individuals can select their concentrations to develop a demanding individualized curriculum that includes a period spent abroad. The successful graduates can pursue doctoral research and participate in a structured doctoral program in the framework of the Bayreuth Graduate School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences (BayNAT). This degree program is taught in German and a good knowledge of German is an essential prerequisite to successfully completing the degree program, as well as a proof German language proficiency at B2 level or equivalent is required for admission. Also, the entry requirements include a bachelor's degree in Physics at the University of Bayreuth or an equivalent degree.
