Description
The Master's degree “Master of Science in Polymer Science” is aimed at students, who are extremely interested in natural and materials science issues, and for those, who want to work on a future-oriented class of materials and are striving for a responsible position in companies, research institutes or universities. Thus, a prerequisite for participation in the course is a first degree (Bachelor of Science) in the fields of polymer and colloid chemistry, chemistry, biochemistry, physics, materials science or in related disciplines. This Master’s program covers all important areas of polymer science: polymer and colloid chemistry, polymer synthesis, catalyst design, colloid chemistry, polymer analysis, polymer physics, polymer processing, biomacromolecules, biomaterials and polymer technology. Also, the successful master's graduates have the opportunity to do a doctorate in the “Polymer Science” doctoral program at the Bayreuth Graduate School for Mathematics and Natural Sciences (BayNAT). Qualified students have the opportunity to take part in the elite study program “Macromolecular Science” in parallel to their master’s and doctorate degrees. The entry requirements include a degree in chemistry or polymer and colloid chemistry or biochemistry or physics or materials science and engineering or related subjects at the University of Bayreuth or an equivalent degree, as well as linguistic proficiency - German: B2.
