Description
The Master’s program “Master of Arts in Sociology” enables the students to get a close form of personal care and continuous support in the everyday practice, the approachability and direct exchange between lecturers and students, and the discussion of qualification work. This course combines social theory, sociology of knowledge, political sociology, sociology of culture and religion, and sociology of development. The Sociology master’s degree is characterized by the close connection between research and teaching, as well as a high degree of freedom of choice and research orientation for students, including teaching research projects and internships. The future career paths and possible working areas include: associations, parties, NGOs, public administration, welfare state institutions, private business enterprises (personnel management, organization, market research, radio and television, etc. The entry requirements include a university degree (or a completed degree) with at least a grade of “good” (2.5) in the bachelor’s degree in culture and society, if one of the two chosen subjects is sociology and the bachelor thesis is written in sociology at the University of Bayreuth or an equivalent graduation. Linguistic proficiency is also needed: German: B2; English: B2.
