The master's degree "Master of Science in Sports Economics" at the University of Bayreuth provides scientific skills and qualifications that prepare students for both a scientific career and management positions in a wide variety of companies and organizations. On the one hand, it qualifies the students to do a doctorate. It also offers students attractive opportunities for professional development through specialization in the integrated disciplines of sports science, business administration and law, but also in sports economics interface areas. Therefore, the focus is also on interdisciplinarity: the students complete (depending on their previous knowledge) entry modules from the areas of sports economics, economics and sports science. This is followed by the choice of a focus in business administration ("Marketing & Services" or "Business Management") and in sports science ("Health & Fitness Management" or "Sport Ecology and Environmental Management"). During this master’s module, the student should express the ability to work on a new topic of the subject with scientific methods independently and using suitable aids and to present it in writing in an appropriate manner. The entry requirements include a university degree with an examination grade of 1.9 or better in the bachelor's degree in sports economics, business administration, health economics or in a teaching degree with the subject area sports / economics at the University of Bayreuth or an equivalent degree, as well as linguistic proficiency German: B2.
