The University of Bayreuth offers the interdisciplinary master's program “Master of Science in Technomathematics”, which is an advanced scientifically oriented course in mathematics with integrated elements from engineering and computer science. Thus, the course gives the students the ability to highest possible level of freedom in organizing their studies, as well as they gain practical experience and establish contacts in the industry by completing an internship that is at least six weeks in duration. Specialization modules in mathematics, computer science, and engineering introduce the individuals to current research. The University of Bayreuth's Technomathematics graduates could work in many different fields: in banks and insurance agencies, in the software and high-tech industry, and in the field of consulting. They are also able to find work locally, around the country, and worldwide. This degree program is taught in German and a good knowledge of German is an essential prerequisite to successfully completing the degree program. Furthermore, a proof of German language proficiency at B2 level or equivalent is required for admission and a bachelor's degree in Technomathematics awarded by the University of Bayreuth or an equivalent qualification.
