The six-semester degree program “Bachelor of Ancient Greek and Latin Literature and its Tradition” is offered at the Universiy of Bonn. It is steered to provide students with academic knowledge about history, philosophy, religion, literature and culture of Greek and Roman antiquity. As ancient texts are taken as important items for Europe’s identity, they are examined within the study course. There is a strong emphasis on translation and understanding of the original Greek and Latin texts. The curriculum has a research orientation via philological-editorial work and implementation of recent literary theories to to historical texts. Graduates possess with qualification and competencies to start work at cultural organizations, academias, publishing houses, libraries or online medias.
