Description
The English-taught practice-oriented degree program “Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics” is offered at the Rheinischen Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and lasts four semesters. This particular program introduces research and practice in language and communication in society, media, organizations, business and politics. Some of the essential modules are Intercultural Communication, Second Language Acquisition, Language Processing and Translation Studies, in which students receive more detailed education. Moreover, teaching and research control are available in practical assignments, analysis, sociolinguistics and dialectology. Students are permitted to make their own research projects via Research Center for Empirical Pragmatics, where they can find variety of tools. After completing the program, there are many opportunities for the alumni, as they are highly competent and qualified to take positions at cultural institutions, embassies, areas in publishing, library, translation and editing.
