The degree program “Bachelor of Arts in Art History” has a duration of six semesters and is offered at the University of Bonn. It is geared toward providing students with learnings about the derivation, exteriority, work and effects of national and international art. The syllabus includes modules of classical artistic media, architecture, graphics, arts and crafts, painting and sculpture, intermedia art movements and the mass media, study of eras and styles from the Middle Ages to recent times. There is a strong accent on study of sequential and classification of work of art, as well as all aspects of work of art: economic, sociological, aesthetical and historical. Participants become familiar with artists' biographies and artistic techniques and develop practice skills via object study in a form of assignments and field trips. Job prospects are in spheres of science management, study tour management, public relations, preservation of historical monuments and journalism.
