The double-subject program “Bachelor of Arts in Art History” offered at the University of Bonn lasts six semesters. It serves the purpose to impart academic knowledge about the origin, looks, attribution and effects of national and international art, mass media, art movements, eras and genres of art works. Participants learn about chronological and local classification to work of art, as well as its representation. Within the curriculum, works of art are clarify in terms of aesthetic, historical, sociological and economic aspects. Along with text works and visual media, an essential focus in put on object study on-site, exercises and trips, in which students gain valuable practical experience. Future job prospects are in areas of curatorial work, tourism, program development, public relations, science management and research institutions.
