The ten-semester Ecclesiastical Examination program „Catholic Theology” at the University of Bonn serves a purpose to provide participants with adequate knowledge about the tradition of the Christian faith. Theological and philosophical staples are taught within the course, along with questions of ecumenism, communication with other religions or other sciences. Applicants will be able to read biblical and ecclesiastical texts in ancient languages like Latin, Greek and Hebrew. There is an internship semester, in which students can orient in their career and accumulate valuable experience. After finishing the study course, most commonly occupied areas are pastoral care, journalism, teaching and religious priesthood.
