The consecutive degree program “Master of Education in Greek” is offered at the University of Bonn and lasts four semesters. It is aimed to provide students with in-depth knowledge about Greek literary, linguistic and cultural studies. Throughout the study course, applicants will learn not only about syntax and stylistics of the Greek language, but also they will gain skills to translate complex German sentences into Greek. Literary studies are central component within the curriculum and participants become familiar with literature of the Greek Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic or Late Antique periods. This particular program is oriented toward subject pedagogy and educational sciences and students learn about methodology and theories of language teaching. For teaching at grammar and comprehensive schools, two subjects are required for studying. Postgraduates can meet their future employers and accumulate a valuable practical experience via the internship semester.
