The international-oriented degree program “Bachelor of Arts in Latin American and Ancient American Studies” offered at University of Bonn consists of six semesters in both German and Spanish. Students gain detailed knowledge about Latin American cultures, literatures and cultural processes of the present. During the program, participants examine methodology of scientific work, theories in the fields of ethnology, cultural studies, linguistics and literature. Along with the Spanish language practice course, students become familiar with Amerindian languages of Latin America (Náhuatl, Yucatecan Mayan, K'iche' Maya and Quechua). The internship semester is a great way for career orientation and accumulating working experience. Potential future occupations are in fields of cultural management, marketing, educational institutions and media industry.
