Norse culture and mythology is a source of inspiration for many contemporary art, film and literature pieces, and has fascinated people around the globe. Scandinavian Studies are a multidisciplinary academic field that focuses on the Nordic countries, their languages, cultures, politics and economies in historical sense and in present day. Scandinavian Studies programs teach a number of subjects, some of which typically include Scandinavian Literature, Scandinavian Languages, Old Norse, Norse Mythology, Viking Archaeology, Literary Translation, Cultural Relations and more.
