The “Master of Education in Teacher Education Secondary School Level I” is a 4-semester long program conducted in German. It is a continuation of the corresponding Bachelor’s degree offered at Karlsruhe University of Education. The aim of the program is to deepen the knowledge of students and provide them with extensive practice work. The curriculum consists of advanced modules in Educational Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, and Subject Didactics and Methodology. The MEd is application-oriented and aims to provide students with hands-on experience and key competencies. Also, it promotes the development of soft skills needed for the dynamic environment of the field. Graduates are qualified to assume teaching positions at secondary schools.
