Description
The binational research-oriented study program “Master of Arts in Middle Eastern Sociology/Anthropology and History” is offered by University of Erfurt in collaboration with Université Saint-Joseph (Beirut/Lebanon) and other partner schools. The focus of the program is set on historical evolution, ethnic diversity, and political revolutions in the Middle East. Essential part of the program is the semester abroad at the university in Lebanon and the cooperative studies with Lebanese students in Erfurt, in order students to exchange opinions from a global viewpoint. Some of the topics that are discussed during the classes are spatial and urban history, gender issues, ethnic and religious diversity and etc. Students from various disciplines ae welcomed in the program. As a result of the program, participants develop distinctive and diverse competences that encompass subject-specific, theoretical, and language skills. After completion of the program, they receive a double degree diploma (Master of Arts, Master recherche). Graduates work in the fields of cultural management, journalism and media, political and economic consulting, and etc.
