The part-time certificate program “English/ American Studies” offered by University of Erfurt provides a comprehensive education in the language, literature and culture of the countries, in which English is the official language. Students gain not only theoretical knowledge, but also develop their practical and intercultural skills. Participants attend classes in Linguistics, where they get familiar with the structures and applications of the English language. Throughout the courses on Literary Studies, students learn about the Anglophone literature from different periods, whereas in their language practice classes they level up their language skills greatly. An opportunity for the graduates is to teach at primary, regular and vocational schools. Another option is working in the fields of journalism, publishing, marketing and advertising and etc.
