The English-taught research-oriented study program “Master of Arts in Global Communication: Politics and Society” offered by University of Erfurt compares media networks and communication cultures around the world. It emphasizes multidimensional political, social, cultural and historical perspectives. Furthermore, the curriculum also looks at how people process media on a psychological level, the efficacy of media content, and recent changes in media development and distribution. The program`s character is very innovative, because it looks at communication in a global context, as well as addresses topics such as foreign news reporting and the everyday globalization. Graduates of the program can either pursue an academic career or build career in the fields of public relations, journalism, communication consulting, and etc.
