The study program “Bachelor of Arts in Music Mediation” offered by University of Erfurt provides major and minor subject Music Mediation, in which students gain thorough knowledge about Musicology, music theory and also acquire practical music competences. Participants will gain an outline of music history and a deeper understanding of the selected music epochs through their music studies. Furthermore, a look at music from other cultures is also included in the curriculum. Moreover, in a near blend of theory and experience, students can work with famous music genres such as jazz, rock and pop music. Other areas in which students are educated are ensemble play, vocal area, conducting, group music making, and etc. Graduates of the program can either teach music in primary and regular schools (but first they need proof of Master of Education), or work in youth cultural centres, cultural authorities, and etc.
