The application-oriented study program “Master of Education Secondary Schools” offered by University of Erfurt provides a thorough preparation for working as a secondary school teacher. After completion of the Master`s degree, students will be eligible for the teaching qualification for German, mathematics, subject teaching and on more main subject. Two main benefits of attending the program. Firstly, students will acquire information about the social context circumstances of school and teaching. Moreover, they will gain key competencies that will allow them to prepare, carry out, and analyse on subject and school type-based teaching and learning in a theoretically oriented way. Incorporated to the curriculum, there is a comprehensive didactic education in one more optional field. In the framework of the program, there are also internships in order students to develop their professional “self”. Most graduates of the program are becoming active secondary school teachers.
