The teaching degree program “History (Teaching at Secondary Schools)” is offered by University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. It amounts to 7 semesters. The latter curriculum aims to impart basic knowledge of the working techniques and methods of historical science as well as a broad orientation knowledge about different epochs and areas, especially of the German society. Upon graduation, participants are able to become historinans, to work in libraries and museums, extracurricular educational institutions, radio and TV and many more. Moreover, participants are prepared for independent scientific work in the field of history. During the curriculum, Old story, Medieval story, Recent and Recent History, Sources and auxiliary sciences and Didactics of history are taught.
