The University of Fine Arts Münster offers a degree course in “Fine Arts”, which concludes with an Academy Letter, corresponding to a Diploma degree. The most characteristic feature of the course is the freedom it gives to students to choose, guided by their own ambition and talent, the most suitable means of expression of their individuality. This is why the course does not limit a choice of an artistic medium, since it pursues the independent contribution of each artist, through the flexibility of the studio course. The program goes through two stages of altogether ten semesters, an initial two-semester orientation course, directed primarily at knowledge of art history, and an eight-semester studio studies, for artistic techniques. These are supplemented by art-related science workshops and further technical procedures subjects. The location of the university additionally contributes to the artistic development of the students, since it is located in a focal point for international contemporary art.
