The international degree program “Master of Arts in European Studies” at the University of Flensburg lasts four semesters and is taught solely in English. Focal points in the study course are regional development and detailed learning of topics in the social sciences and humanities, such as economic and political theories, European law, European ideas, and European contemporary history. There are compulsory modules, which are based on three facets of the program: Europe, regions and development, and optional courses in the third semester. The last semester is dedicated to write and defend Master’s thesis. After finishing the entire study course, applicants will hold competencies and necessary qualification to start work at private institutions, public administration, non-governmental organizations, educational institutions, municipalities or in areas of mediation between business organisations and public authorities.
