Description
The consecutive degree program “Master of Arts in Culture-Language-Media” at University of Flensburg has a duration of four semesters and it is taught in both English and German language. It is steered to prepare applicants for language and cultural mediators in German-speaking, Scandinavian, English-speaking areas. Accordingly, students become professionals in intercultural interaction processes and intercultural cooperation. The curriculum is versatile and incorporates linguistics, literary studies, cultural studies, art/visual culture, media studies, intercultural business studies. After completion the entire study course, graduates will not only possess with comprehensive learnings of Northern Europe and the transatlantic region, the cultural intersections between Scandinavian, German-speaking, and English-speaking countries, and knowledge of broad range of theoretical concepts, traditions, and movements related to these fields, but also they will master the research methodolgy in cultural studies, literature, linguistics, and visual media design. Moreover, there is an internship period in which students will gain valuable hands-on experience for their future career, most commonly in the cultural sector.
