The subsequent degree study course “Master of Education in Teacher Training Special Education” at the University of Flensburg covers four semesters. There are two special education subjects, a general education teaching subject, and the subject of special education psychology. Students will obtain in-depth learnings about science and application-related content of special disciplines and special educational psychology, and they will also lay the foundations of professional special educational action and reflection. The syllabus incorporates three sub-degree programs and also postgraduates can choose to study one special educational subject, as options are between Pedagogy with impairment of intellectual development, Pedagogy with Impairment of Language and Communication, Pedagogy and didactics for the promotion of emotional and social development or Special pedagogy of learning. Participants will gain scientific and subject-specific knowledge, diagnostic, therapeutic, teaching and communication skills as well as qualifications in counseling, supervision and cooperation which will be valuable for their future professional career as teachers.
