Theatre Studies focus on the cultural impact of Theatre and its history in all of its forms – plays, operas, dance, festivals, ritual performances and cultural events. Students in Theatre Studies have the opportunity to combine theory by learning about subjects such as History of Drama and Theatre, Theory and Aesthetics of Theatre, Dramaturgical Concepts, Staging Procedures, Performance Art, Script Analysis, Stage Management, Costume Design History, Acting Aesthetics, Directing and Theatre Production, and practical experience in production, directing student plays or performing in them, assisting with lighting, staging and costume design, as well as in-depth research in the field. Students acquire analytical, problem-solving, creative, debate, communication and writing skills that will help them in their professional life. Because of the acquired knowledge and practical experience, students are at an advantageous position in the job market. They can find work in directing, dramaturgy, stage management, theatre history and theory, playwriting, set and costume design, theatre technology and lighting, performing, publishing and more.
