The “Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Studies - Comparative Literature and Culture” is offered at the Justus Liebig University Giessen. This course is a six-semester, German-taught, full-time program. The main purpose of this Bachelor’s degree is to further the participants’ academic knowledge and skills in the area of comparative literature and culture. Therefore, the students will deepen their understanding in cultural theory, history of literature, European culture and literature, poetry, literature analysis and many others. At the end of their studies the participants will need to prepare a Bachelor’s thesis. Furthermore, the participants get the chance to study for one year in a foreign country or to do an internship. The entry requirements consist of a general university entry certificate.
