The Justus Liebig University Giessen offers the teaching degree “Teaching Qualification for Primary Education with the Subject ‘Islamic Religion’ (L1)” as a seven-semester, German-taught program. The main goal of this course is to further the participants’ academic knowledge and skills in the fields of teaching, Islamic religion, mathematics, sociology, political and educational sciences, psychological methods, etc. Furthermore, the students will deepen their understanding in German language, history, culture, writing, spelling, didactics, personal development, and many others. At the end of their studies, the students will need to undertake a final state exam, in order to graduate. The future graduates will be well-prepared to work as teachers within German primary schools. The admission requirements include a general university entry certificate and language skills.
