The state examination program “Medicine“ offered at the University of Göttingen is a 12-semester program conducted in German. It divides into two interlinked parts - preclinical and clinical. The first one continues for 4 semesters and includes courses in basic sciences, preclinical medicine, medical psychology and sociology, and more. The clinical part lasts 6 semesters and dives into the theoretical and practical aspects of clinical medicine - history-taking, physical examination, diagnostic methods, and clinical science. Upon completion of all coursework, students spend one year in rotations in internal medicine, surgery, and an elective discipline.
