The degree program “Bachelor of Science in Biomathematics” at University of Greifswald provides a full-time study course with a duration of six semesters. It is taught in German. The main focus of this study course is to train mathematicians with knowledge in various disciplines of biology in the ability to mathematically model a wide variety of biological issues and find answers to applied questions. Throughout this program participants will learn more about abstract thinking in the logical and mathematical structures and they will also gain knowledge and practical skills in biological disciplines and combine the contents of both training components. Some subjects covered by this degree are conceptual, content and methodological basics of analytical mathematics, the basics of general biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, genetics, ecology and chemistry. Some excellent career examples are computer programmer, database administrator, nuclear engineer, statistician, physicist, financial analyst, mathematician and many more.
