The degree program “Bachelor of Arts in German Studies” at University of Greifswald provides a full-time study course with a duration of six semesters. It is taught in German. This study course’s main focus is to teach students the basics of German language and literature studies. Throughout their studies participants receive a general methodological scientific orientation and acquire specific literary-cultural skills, which includes in-depth knowledge of the German language in German language literature from the Middle Ages to the present day and understanding of text types and media in terms of cultural history. The two main study fields are linguistics in a literary study, some subjects that are included in this program are modern literature history, novels, poetry, interaction with media, development of cultural traditions and the origins of cultural changes and more.
