The degree program „Master of Arts in Language and Communication” at University of Greifswald” provides a full-time study course with a duration of four semesters. It aims to take up the latest scientific developments in the concrete application of language and the connection between interpersonal and mass media communication into combined them together. Throughout their studies participants will be enabled to completely analyse, describe and reflect critically on the language and communication in institutions and in public. Some of the following modules are included in this course: historical foundations of today’s German, grammar and pragmatics of spoken and written language, language and social interaction, media organisation, media use, media impact and more. Towards the end of their study graduates will be qualified to work in the following areas: public relations, language and advice and communication training in companies and politics, communication and media training for parties, associations and civil society actors, journalistic activity in political journalism and media reporting, research on applied linguistics/interpersonal communication and many more.
