Description
The degree program “Bachelor of Arts in Musicology” at University of Greifswald provides a full-time study course with a duration of six semesters. It is taught in German. The main focus of this course is the history of European music since the Middle Ages, as well as the culture of the Baltic Sea region. Throughout this course participants will gain general musical knowledge, special skills in the presentation of music, its historical context and their sociological, aesthetic and ethnological dimensions. Some of the modules covered by this program are: Instrumental training with an instrument, choral and ensemble conducting, music theory, vocal training/vocal studies and more. After successfully completing this degree graduates are qualified to work in private, municipal and university research institutes, in archives, instrument museums and cultural offices, as well as music publishing, regional and national music organisations and many more.
