The six-semester degree program “Bachelor of Arts in Art History’’ is offered at University of Hamburg. It offers theoretical knowledge and practical skills in art history since late antiquity. Throughout the program, participants will explore the origins, function, character, as well as the effects of different artworks in European culture and history. Furthermore, students will also gain key practical skills that will enable them to identify and apply scientific knowledge within various areas of responsibility of art historical work. The degree content comprises of three major phases. Graduates can continue their studies with a Master’s degree or pursue a professional career in some of the following areas: art associations, art galleries, libraries and archives, publishers, and others.
