Description
University of Hamburg offers the Master of Arts degree program “Art History’’. This course of study is with a duration of four semesters and is meant to build up on the knowledge already acquired throughout the Bachelor’s course of the same name. Here, undergraduate students will receive a better understanding of the history and theory of different areas of the fine arts, namely architecture, painting, graphic arts, sculpture, design, photography, as well as audiovisual media. Furthermore, participants will learn how to work independently and critically as scientists and apply their knowledge further in their professional careers. In semesters one through three, students will take five compulsory modules along with two elective ones. The fourth and final semester is dedicated to the Master’s thesis. With a Master’s degree, graduates can work in academic research and teaching or at museums, art galleries and exhibitions, monument preservation, and other fields.
