The study program “Bachelor of Science in Biology” at the University of Hamburg is designed to introduce to students the scientific basics of Biology as well as the other neighboring sciences – Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. The course is focused on the biology branches, including Biochemistry, Evolution, Genetics and Molecular Biology, Physiology, Morphology, Developmental Biology, Ecology and many others. Biology graduates are qualified for pursuing the degree of Master of Science or directly entering a career. Participants with a focus on Biodiversity and Ecology have job market options in nature and environmental protection, landscape planning, as well as environmental education. With a focus on Molecular Biology and Genetics, graduates can work in laboratories and in non-university research institutions in the field of plant breeding, food research or pharmacy. Students with degrees in Biology can build a career in management, sales and marketing, public relations and others.
