The degree program “Master of Science in Business Mathematics” at the University of Hamburg is designed to expand students' knowledge of theoretical and practical mathematics, business administration, and computer science. The course of studies enables students to develop a better understanding of the fundamentals of Mathematics and Economics. After completing this program, participants will be able to use their skills in real-life situations and critically analyze problems according to their particular context and related academic findings. This course of studies covers the mathematical processes and techniques currently used in the fields of business and finance. It includes a review of basic business mathematical skills with particular emphasis on linear equations, system of linear equations, determinants, logarithmic, amortization, as well as optimization problems. After graduating the Master's degree program in Business Mathematics, students can start their career as business and finance professionals. There is, also, a whole host of career fields which graduates from University of Hamburg can succeed in, namely management training, information technology, further education, scientific research as well as development.
