The study program “Bachelor of Arts in Classical Archaeology” at the University of Hamburg deals with the ancient cultures of the Mediterranean as part of history and cultural sciences. The course is designed to appeal to students with a general interest in the classical world and wanting a particular focus on the art and material Greek and Roman culture. As a discipline, the Bachelor's degree program “Classical Archaeology” familiarizes its participants with archaeology and heritage studies, among other things. The personal skills, analytical techniques and general ways of thinking are all highly transferable, but this Bachelor's degree program is also intended as a suitable grounding for subsequent graduate research on similar topics. After completion of studies, graduates go on to work in a range of occupational fields, including law, banking, civil service, information technology or librarianship.
