Description
The degree program “Master of Arts in Criminology” at the University of Hamburg is designed to offer students the opportunity to progress in the field of Criminology both academically and professionally. The degree program builds on expertise and specialist interests across Criminology and social work programs. The course of studies integrates theory, social research, skills and professional experience, preparing students with critical thinking skills for employment in the workforce in criminal- and community justice-related settings. The degree program aims to provide an advanced level course for students seeking to critically analyze the theory and practice of criminal justice. Upon graduation, depending on the subject students have chosen for specialization, they receive a double qualification in both Sociology and Law or Social Pedagogy and Criminology. Graduates of the degree program have doors open for different occupational fields, including youth service, community rehabilitation, as well as voluntary services.
