Description
The international study program “Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies with a Focus on Sinology” at the University of Hamburg offers to its participants intensive language training as well as teaching of the East Asian culture and history. Besides the high level of education that is provided from the University of Hamburg, the Bachelor's degree program includes also a semester abroad, which can be spent in a partner-university in China or in Taiwan. That way, participants can “meet” the culture in person and gain priceless experience and knowledge. The objective of this Bachelor's degree program is to combine language and competence relating to East Asian cultures with methods and theories of cultural and social science, in order to develop research skills and analytic competence for scientific and executive positions in politics, business and society. Graduates of the degree program are qualified for taking jobs on in the fields of intercultural communication as analysts, consultants and mediators. Students can also find employment in tourism, banking, public relations, as well as in media.
