Description
The degree program “Master of Arts in Educational Science” at the University of Hamburg provides students possibilities to deepen knowledge in philosophy of education, sociology, psychology, adult education, multicultural education as well as in human behavior. During the course of studies participants will acquire scientific expertise in the field of education and will be able to work with theories and analyze and develop educational practices. The degree program creates a foundation for producing scientific knowledge and applying scientific methods in practice in the field of education. Students will have the options to choose one of two profile subjects available, namely “Participation and Lifelong Learning" and "Educational Theory and Empirical Educational Research”. Both of them should convey the current state of knowledge of the subject and train individuals in subject-specific methods. Current pedagogical challenges in the areas of society, politics, economics and culture are reflected during the course in depth on many different approaches. The Master's degree in Educational Science enables the graduates to have a number of job opportunities at institutions of secondary and higher education, public administration agencies, non-governmental organizations as well as EU structures and other related fields.
