Description
“English as a World Language (ENGAGE)’’ is a Master of Arts joint program offered by the Department of English and American Studies at University of Hamburg and the Asien-Afrika-Instituteat. With a duration of four semesters this course of study is taught in both German and English. The main objective of the program is to teach students about the so-called ‘’new Englishes’’, which refers to the range of variants of English language spoke in former African, Caribbean, as well as Asian colonies. Here, students will investigate the linguistical factors in the development of these languages. This program allows students to seek career prospects in fields like communications, advertising and PR, publishing, as well as work in international organizations.
